Netronix will soon release the PocketBook 602 eBook reader in the US. The FCC just approved the device for launch.

The PocketBook 602 has a six inch screen that uses e-Ink to display text and images. Processor wise it has a 532MHz Freescale ARM11 processor. Other features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and a 3G/3.5G wireless data connection. The OS running on the device is a custom build of Linux.

The eBook reader supports several file formats which include PDF, ePUB, FB2, HTML, TXT, PRC, MOBI, RTF, DOC, JPG, and MP3 file formats.

High definition 720P MP4 Player (AVI, RMVB); MP4 video player (supporting WMV, MPEG, VOB, DAT and more); MP3 audio player (supporting MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, WAV, and more); Large 4.3 inch screen; 8 GB internal memory with micro SD card slot for up to another 8GB (not included); FM Radio and voice recording function.

Buffalo has launched a new media-player called the Link Theatre LT-V100. The new model supports 1080p video, DTS, Dolby Digital 5.1 and also supports several formats which include MPEG-2, MPEG-4 SP/ASP and MPEG-4 AVC.

For pictures and audio it supports jpeg, bmp, png, gif, tiff, WMA, Mp3, WAV, OGG, FLAC and LPCM.

The new LT-V100 is also capable of connecting up with a NAS or PC via a LAN connection so that media can be dragged to and from it.

It even has a built-in mp3 player and rechargeable battery, so it can play music without being connected to anything. Now you have a choice – connect it to your iPod or leave your iPod at home and just bring your tunes and your speaker. You can even attach it to your bicycle handlebars and menace the neighborhood.

The Endurance comes with a built in MP3/MP4 media player so you can easily playback all of your favorite movies, music, or photos, all with the simple tap of the touchscreen. Just plug this watch phone into your computer’s USB port and load your favorite media files onto the internal 2GB memory. The EB710 is a colour eBook reader that features a 7 inch TFT colour screen that is capable of displaying 800 x 480 pixels.
The manufacturer is believed to be NSECO who I don’t believe I have heard of before. Either way, the device looks quite interesting and certainly has a unique user interface from looking at the picture above.
As well as being able to read ebooks on the device, MP3 and video playback is possible. A USB 2.0 connector can be found on the device although there is no mention of wireless of 3G connectivity in the specifications.
Battery life isn’t mentioned although we do know it runs a 2100mAh battery which should be good for a few hours of reading at least.
I’m not convinced it will be a Kindle killer by any means, but if they price it up right we could be looking at a decent eBook reader here that could sell quite well.

French electronic company Memup has launched a new MP3 player, the Memup M26THD.

The Memup M26THD features a 2.6 inch TFT LCD display, it comes with 8GB of storage and it can playback the majority of video and music files including MP3, WMA, WMV, AVI, RM and MPEG4.
