The Flip range of pocket video cameras has long been a PC Pro favorite, marrying ease of use with excellent video quality at a reasonable price. The third-gen Flip UltraHD adds a couple of major new features to the armory: image stabilization and 50fps video recording.
There’s still no upgrade to 1080p, but it’s the first time we’ve seen image stabilization on any pocket video camera, and it combines with the new, super-high frame rate to spectacular effect. Fujifilm 3D Camera Can Capture HD 3D Movie Clips

In July of last year, Fujifilm broke ground by launching their FinePix W1 which was the companies 3D camera that could capture both 3D pictures and video that were viewable without the need of 3D glasses. This year, Fujifilm is following up on the success of last years model by introducing their newest camera, the FinePix W3.

The FinePix W3 follows up on last years model by offering up HD quality images as well as provides a simple way to view 3D movies on a large screen display. The W3 is similar to the older model in that it uses a pair of 10MP image sensors, but the difference is that the latest processor supports 3D video in 720p resolution. Both lenses work in tandem to snap pictures which are then rendered into a 3D effect. The FinePix W3 is not just limited to 3D technology, but is also backwards compatible, supporting 2D image capture by hitting just a single button on the camera.

In addition to this, the 3D digital camera includes a mini HDMI port which allows for an easy connection to a large 3D screen display so that you can enjoy your movies on the big screen. The FinePix W3 will go on sale next month for $500.

There is a buzz growing around Canon and their new 60D digital camera. The DSLR camera is said to fit somewhere between the 7D and the T2i with an official announcement coming shortly. However, things may have changed as it appears that this announcement may not come until next month some time.

The most probable August dates circulating for this announcement are August 11th and August 24th and by delaying the announcement, it may just built anticipation for the Canon EXPO 2010, an event that will occur on September 2/3.

Sigma SD15 Digital SLR

The Sigma SD15 was first spotted by GadgetVenue just a few months ago although we hear that it’s actually been in the process of launch since back in September 2008 (yes… 2008). After almost a two year wait the camera is now ready for launch this month with some improved specifications.

What the digital SLR camera has is a 14 megapixel Foveon X3 direct image sensor that works by combining three 4.7 megapixel layers that individually capture red, green and blue light hitting it.

On the back of the camera a 3 inch LCD display can be found. Inside a True II image processor is used.

The Sigma SD15 will launch in a few weeks on Friday June 25 with a price tag of $1,443. The price tag is higher than what was mentioned back in February though. Expect reviews to start showing up shortly.

Neofonie WeTab Delayed Till September

The Neofonie WeTab tablet computer that was expected to ship to German customers has been delayed. The online retail giant Amazon has been advising their user base that the WeTab will not be available for a few months and are targeting September 19th as the most likely date.

The Neofonie tablet was originally called the WePad prior to its name change and many insiders believe the name change may have been a way to avoid a possible confrontation with Apple and their iPad. The tablet that comes with an Intel Atom processor, an 11.6-inch touchscreen display, SD card reader, 1.3MP camera and a six hour battery will be available in two variants. The 16GB tablet will sell for $610 and a 32GB tablet that also comes with 3G access will sell for $770.

The Sony NEX-3 and Sony NEX-5 digital cameras were unveiled a couple of weeks back. Each of the cameras use the APS-C format.

The Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 bring the power of a digital SLR camera and mix that in to a smaller case closer to the size of a point and shoot camera. The difference between the two cameras is the NEX-5 has more superior video recording capabilities and can capture in full HD at 1080p. The NEX-3 can handle up to 720p video. Android Powered Meizu M9 Smartphone

Meizu Technology Co, a Chinese portable multimedia device manufacturer, has come out with their Google Android powered Meizu M9 smartphone.
This Chinese knock-off is an iPhone clone that looks just as good as the original and has some impressive features to back it up. The M9 runs on a 1GHz Samsung S5PC110 processor chip and comes with Google Android, version 2.1. For features, the handset includes WiFi, 3G, and Bluetooth support. It also has 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, 3.6-inch touchscreen display, and a 5MP digital camera with high definition video recording.
The Meizu M9 handset will launch on August 18th for $325. An extra $40 will get you a set of headphones and an 8GB memory card.

HTC EVO 4G

The HTC EVO 4G is the first 4G smartphone being launched in America. The 4G network being used is provided through Sprint who run the network across a number of States in the US with more coverage being added through out the coming years.
The HTC EVO 4G has two cameras built in with one facing forwards for video calls and the other facing backwards to capture photos while out and about. The rear facing camera can capture images at 8 megapixels while the front camera is 1.3 megapixels. It runs Android 2.1 and has full access to over 35,000 apps found in the Android Market.
The HTC EVO 4G runs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm making things like menu transitions and page loads quite snappy.
Due to the fast 4G connection you are able to browse the web quickly while using voice as the network supports both voice and data simultaneously.
The EVO 4G has a built-in mobile hotspot function allowing 8 users to connect up over Wi-Fi and share the fast 4G connection. If 4G isn’t available it automatically switches to a 3G network.
A HDMI output is also included that allows the smartphone to be connected up to a HDTV with a cable (sold separately).
Overall an impressive device that will be launching in the next few weeks at quite a good price! Keep your eye on Sprint over the next few weeks to watch for the pre-orders to start. After reading a few reviews, the HTC EVO 4G is set to be a top phone.

Casio EX-FH100

Photography Blog has done another lengthy review. The Casio EX FH100 review goes in to eight pages worth of review covering all aspects of the digital camera and what it can and cannot do.
The Casio EX-FH100 has a 10 megapixel sensor, is capable of 10X zoom and has an illuminated sensor to help with darkened shots. One of the more impressive features is it’s ability to capture video at 1000 frames per second providing the ability to capture some amazing slow motion shots.
The review is quite positive although a bit of work on the innards of the camera is said to be needed which includes poor quality images when settings of over ISO 200 are used.

LG Ally official on Verizon

Verizon formally announced the LG Ally along with a release date and pricing. The LG Ally will be launched on May 20 and will cost $100 on contract.
The LG Ally is the first ever LG Android based phone to be launched in the US. The Ally comes installed with the Android 2.1 operating system along with a slightly tweaked UI by LG.
Technical spec wise it has 802.11n connectivity, GPS built in and a full QWERTY slide out keyboard. Live wallpapers can be used on this device.
Around the back a 3.2 megapixel camera can be found along with a flash. The camera can capture pictures and video although there are no HD resolutions on this smartphone.
Pre-orders for the LG Ally are starting tomorrow where you can pick up the phone for $100 on contract over at Verizon.

HTC DROID Incredible Teardown by TechRestore

TechRestore are getting a good name in the world of teardowns due to their different approach at presenting the details.

Rather than taking pictures along the way and posting each picture, TechRestore create short stop-motion animations around 3 minutes in length showing a device being taken apart and being quickly put back together. Previous gadgets towndown this way include the Apple iPad and PSP Go.

This time, TechRestore have taken apart a HTC DROID Incredible that launched just a few days ago. There isn’t really anything special to be found inside other than the usual camera, chips, CPU’s and a screen, but for some reason watching it in stop-motion makes it a little more entertaining.

Pentax Optio M90

Pentax is readying their new digital camera for the European market. Called the Optio M90, the 12MP camera comes with a 5x wide angle zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD display screen, smile capture, blink detection and facial recognition.
The camera also includes a video recording feature though the quality is limited to just 640×480 resolution. Included with the compact digital camera will also be software apps that allow for image viewing, editing and filing.
The Pentax Optio M90 should be available in mid-June for roughly $180 and at the time of launch, photo enthusiasts can choose between either a burgundy or black model. No US release date has been announced thus far.

Nokia X2

Nokia today announced the Nokia X2. The X2 is part of the Xseries line-up of phones which currently includes the X3 and the X6.
The Nokia X2 has a 2.2 inch QVGA screen and is a candybar phone. It measures 13mm thin and just 81g.
Other features in the Nokia X2 include dual speakers, dedicated mucic keys and an FM stereo. For storage it accepts up to a 16GB microSD card.
Bluetooth 2.1 is included allowing you to use wireless headphones or connection to other devices to share files. Access to social networking is built in that brings Facebook to the homescreen allowing you to see what close friends are currently doing.
On the back is a 5 megapixel camera allowing it to capture some fairly good pictures. The price is quite cheap with the X2 costing €85 before tax and subsidies.

TomTom Go Live 1000

TomTom announced a new satnav device called the TomTom Go Live 1000. The device is capable of bringing real-time services to users which we will go in to more detail shortly.

The TomTom Go Live 1000 uses an ARM 11 500Mhz processor and uses a new Webkit-based user interface along with a capacitive touchscreen.

The new Go Live 1000 product allows integration of third party applications. The system comes with TomTom HD Traffic (a 1 year free subscription) along with a mobile speed camera database and local search across 16 countries.
