The Sony Dash which up until now was restricted to just US sales has now been confirmed to be available on the global market. The device, which is a 7-inch touchscreen tablet with widget support and an Internet browser was designed as a tabletop accessory that was unveiled earlier this year during CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2010.
The unit supports well over 1000 different widget applications including the most popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. You’ll also get YouTube video support and an advanced alarm clock with all the bells and whistles.
Sounds nice, but Sony does offer one caution about their Dash tablet and that is “many providers automatically geo-filter their content so your experience with your Dash may vary depending on your location.” In other words, you may not be able to get all of the functionality of the widgets depending upon what part of the world you reside in.
