SanDisk Xbox 360 USB Flash Drive

SanDisk has confirmed that they have begun shipping their Xbox 360 USB flash drives. The USB sticks that are available in drive sizes of 8GB ($34.99) and 16GB ($69.99) offer a cheaper alternative to an external hard drive solution.

The drives have been developed in partnership with Microsoft and take advantage of an April 6th change that Microsoft introduced which allowed gamers saved data from the Xbox console to an external device. This data includes saved games, user profiles, demos, pictures as well as video content.

It should be noted that though this USB stick is considered the official USB drive for the Xbox, any old flash drive can be used after the Xbox 360 partitions the device. Once the drive has been prepped for the Xbox, it becomes a dedicated storage device to be used strictly with the 360 unless of course it is formatted again.
