LaCie, has updated their range of portable hard drives but adding USB 3.0 connectivity to their rugged HDs. The LaCie USB 3.0 HD is capable of reaching data transfer speeds of up to 110MB/s, making them faster then firewire and about three times the speed of a USB 2.0 drive.
In addition to speed, the LaCie drive includes software that allows for easy data backups as well as drive formatting should the need arise. Also bundled with the offering is 10GB of free online data storage through Wuala for a period of one year.
