We’re starting to see more devices that are developed with USB 3.0 and though the majority of these gadgets seem to be either flash drives or external hard drives, this does not have to be the case.
Such is the BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle, a USB 3.0 HDMI video capture device. Being dubbed as the first such unit available on the market, the Intensity Shuttle is capable of capturing 10-bit streaming video from an HDMI 1.3 source as well as from composite and S-video.
As this is a USB device, the Intensity Shuttle does not require an external power supply and relies on the power available through the USB 3.0 port on the computer. Users can also expect to take advantage of the faster transfer speeds available through USB 3.0 which is said to be 10 times faster then USB 2.0.
