Google has announced that Google Mobile App is now available for owners of the Research In Motion BlackBerry Storm and Storm 2. The software application introduces a number of new features for BB users including search by voice, search through email and contact lists, Google suggest and search history to name just a few.
Regarding the voice search, mobile users only need to hold the green button down and recite their search phrase in order to receive results. The app is compatible with English, Chinese, Mandarin and Japanese.
Individuals that would like to locate an email can do so by searching for the senders name or by searching for keywords that could be found in the body of the text of the message. Of course, this phone search feature can be toggled on and off through the options screen and as part of the terms of service, Google has confirmed that contact information and the content of your personal email will remain on your BlackBerry device. At no time, will this data be transmitted to a Google server.
Google Mobile App will also tie in with other Google services such as Google Maps as well as Google’s email service, Gmail. If you’re interested in trying the new app, you can do so by going to m.google.com with your BlackBerry browser.
