Motorola DROID Gets Rooted

The Motorola DROID has been rooted. You might be wondering what that exactly means though. In summary, it allows you to install software that activates features previously unavailable such as multitouch support for those in the US including pinch to zoom functions.

The information came courtesy of Cyanogen who tweeted on Twitter “Droid does… ROOT” along with a link to full details of how to root it. Full details of how to root are found here.

As well as being able to activate multitouch features, rooting opens up all areas of the phone which are normally blocked such as being able to change clock speed, change the appearance (in a lot more depth) and access all the hidden features that are inside the firmware.
