One more step to the best ergonomic keyboard

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2009

When someone makes the mistake of telling how wrong you are when it comes to your attitude concerning your health, you tend to become violent. Maybe the word it’s an exaggeration and I agree, but you get angry because that certain someone dares to show you the truth, a truth you know very well but you’d rather keep it for yourself.

One more step to the best ergonomic keyboard

And I’ll take my example to prove my case. When people told me that prolonged hours spent in front of the computer will have the worst consequences possible, the only thing I did was to laugh at everyone’s faces and tell them to mind their own business. I’ve been rude, but I had a reason for acting this way: I knew how bad things are, but I couldn’t just admit that I was wrong.

So now my back hurts like hell, my spine is far from being alright, and I’ve come so far that I hate sitting in a chair. More than that, I’m waiting for the moment when my fingers to show some signs of despair. Maybe I’m paranoiac, but repetitive strain injuries are a fact and happen more and more to people who use the computer.

A solution that helps us all avoid this problem is an ergonomic keyboard, the first step to an ergonomically correct position. And here it is the Smartfish Pro:Motion Keyboard, which looks pretty normal, if you ask me, but it incorporates motors that shift the angle of the keyboard and the separation between keys several times during the day, so the wrist don’t stand a chance in resting too long in the same position. The keyboard is provided with seven “stations” the keyboard rotates through.

There are still plenty other similar devices to come until the day we will be able to say that we’re dealing with the best ergonomic keyboard, but the Smartfish Pro:Motion Keyboard is here to solve your RSI problems in the meantime. And it can be yours for $130, from EverythingUSB.

Apple Keyboard concept

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2009

If you own your very own Apple computer system, then you most certainly are familiar with the Apple keyboard that were produced in time by the American multinational corporation that is so very well known worldwide.

Apple Keyboard concept

And maybe they aren’t what you could call genuine pieces of art, being quite regular, but you might change your mind with regard to the Appple-branded keyboards when seeing the concept I am going to how you in the following paragraphs.

This is a concept that makes all the sense in the world, as it comes equipped with all the keys that are necessary and required by the Mac OS X environment. Besides these keys, other important aspects refer to the induction charge and the sync segment that is placed on the right side and that is designed to hold the Apple device that you own, whether it’s an iPhone or an iPod. What you must take into consideration is the fact that the sync segment is compatible with the most recent generations of the above-mentioned handsets.

But this is not a brand new idea, as we’ve had the chance to see a similar concept, a notebook that also incorporated an iPhone, announced by a company called OLO. Unfortunately, the notebook shared the same fate as other concepts that never become reality, remaining in the concept phase.

The Apple keyboard concept comes with six programmable OLED keys that are designed to open up the application or the websites you like, whenever they are pressed. Even if this isn’t a real product that people can find in the shop windows, the designer made a suggestion as far as the price is concerned: $79.99. Too bad you just can’t touch this!

Play Scrabble online with the Scrabble keyboard

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2009

“Scrabble is a word game in which two to four players score points by forming words from individual lettered tiles on a game board marked with a 15-by-15 grid. The words are formed across and down in crossword fashion and must appear in a standard dictionary” ( Wikipedia).

Play Scrabble online with the Scrabble keyboard

Some of you might not be familiar with this game, even if it’s very well known in the whole world, so they wouldn’t be able to understand the surprise on the faces of those who see the Scrabble keyboard from the picture above.

Therefore, if you’re a fanatic Scrabble player and you love the game as much as you love your mother, then you a have a reason powerful enough to make you want to have your very own Scrabble keyboard. The device is meant to commemorate your passion, even if it’s quite a weird way to do such a thing. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather type the words quickening their steps out of my brain at my regular black Microsoft keyboard instead of using one which features scrabble tiles made of wood combined with brushed aluminum. The silver accents are meant to give this keyboard a more industrialized aspect to the overall design.

You should know that the buttons are real scrabble tiles, which makes it even more impressive, isn’t it? They were hand-beveled and then introduced in a USB keyboard. It sounds like a sisyphic work that could easily drive anyone mad. As far as the points of the individual letters are concerned, they were all modified in order to display the secondary function of the key.

Unfortunately, if you’re already dreaming about this new keyboard, allowing you to play Scrabble online (but of course, what else?), you should know (before getting too excited) that it won’t hit the mass production anytime soon.

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2009

I do not have an iPod of my own, even if it’s all the rage these days, not only here in my country, but whatever place you decide to go to. It’s an every season must-have, because it seems that, no matter what, the iPod doesn’t become old fashioned. It’s very good to see that a company manages to keep its customers interested in its products, many years after those products were released in the market.

Portable iPod speaker for outdoor parties

The iPod accessories market is over-crowded, due to the success the Apple products have had since day one, so here we have another iPod compatible gadget.

Not another plastic mirror

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2009

Some combinations are just weird. The word is not enough to express what I want to say right now, but it’s the only one to cross my mind. And, after all, the combination is weird and I think I’ve said everything.

Not another plastic mirror

I haven’t seen such thing before, but it was right about time for a device like this one to appear: you can’t tell whether it’s a mirror or a make-up or… yeah, why not, a speaker. Actually it’s a mixture between of the things a woman loves most in this world: make-up, a mirror, music and, of course, the pink color.

Not another plastic mirror

The first one is to make the ladies feel the prettiest on earth, the second is to show (or, why not, convince) them how beautiful they are, music helps them conquer anyone, while for pink there is no logical reason for them to be crazy about it.

Being shaped as a compact, this speaker has a mirror inside and a interchangeable face plate that can help the user customize it. In addition, there are a 3.5mm line out jack which is included in the package (it is compatible with an iPod, MP3 or a CD player) and a speaker unit that measures 50 millimeters in diameter. It runs on 3 xAAA batteries. The speaker can be purchased for approximately $24 from BB Shopping.

Its blue hard plastic shell with black rubbery buttons and grip is perfect for any outdoorsy adventurer. Soundwave, the underwater MP3 player

The Soundwave supports MP3, WMA and protected WMA (DRM) files and holds and plays up to 320 songs; the MP3 files can easily be downloaded using the USB interface. In addition, the device is compatible with Subscription Music Services, features an OLED screen to display track details, a FM radio tuner with channel presets, equalizer presets, a built-in rechargeable battery. Cute Butterfly Speakers

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2009

Your girlfriend is one of the millions girls out there in love with butterflies and wants everything to be butterfly shaped. You don’t like this very much, especially because her entire world seems to be a giant pastel flying creature. She is now yearning for an iPod dock provided with multicolored wings. Maybe it’s not such a bad thing, after all; most certainly this passion of hers is the natural consequence of the fact that you give her butterflies. Did you ever think of that? I bet you didn’t, otherwise you wouldn’t have had that smile on your face right now. That’s a whole new perspective, isn’t it?

Cute Butterfly Speakers

She wants to be feminine and, therefore, she’ll fall in love with these Butterfly Speakers, there’s no doubt about it. Even if staring at them for a few minutes doesn’t help you see a single wing of a butterfly, not to mention the whole picture. But she will be so thrilled about the idea that she probably wouldn’t even notice it. It’s curved, alright, but not necessarily modeled after a butterfly. Anyway, the flowers which adorn the device will make an impression, so you won’t have to worry!

The hi-fi butterfly is equipped with two speakers, a universal dock that works with any iPod or iPhone and an auxiliary jack for other MP3 players. Best of all, the cute speakers feature three plastic soft touch interchangeable face plates in green, pink and blue. This way, your girlfriend will be able to update her style whenever she likes, more often the she updates the playlist, or according to her mood. You should be grateful because she’ll let you know about the way she’s feeling without saying one word.

The Butterfly Speakers measure 7.5 x 2.5 x 7.5 and can be either plugged in or powered through 4 AA batteries, which are not included.

MacGyver Watch

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2009

Back with another one of those block rockin’ beats… erm, I mean cool and feature-packed watches. This time, the watch is said to be the exact copy of MacGyver’s fancy timepiece that helped him escape some nasty situations during his televised adventures.

MacGyver Watch

The MacGyver watch is not another iteration of the Swiss army knife, but knows some audio tricks. It sports a 5-mode audio equalizer, 3-D stereo sound, built-in voice recorder, integrated USB cable, and thumb drive to store and transfer data. Skullcandy is responsible for the integration of the music player into MacGyver’s watch. The company is also known for their audio-integrated lifestyle products, such as backpacks with built-in speakers and snow helmets with iPod controls, so the MacGuyver watch comes is no surprise.

Other features include MP3 and WAV playback, USB 1.1 flash storage, an automatic power-off battery (what’s the use?). Furthermore, the watch is shock proof/static proof and packs a built-in microphone/voice recorder in case you want to go the spy way.

If it doesn’t let you hook up some Sennheiser headphones, it ain’t that good. But they don’t specify that, so if you want to try and see this for yourself, you have to spend $199.

Surround Sound Chair

Posted by admin On July - 23 - 2009

Heavy night, last night, and hell of a day at work? All you need is some relaxing moments and a good sleep. You just need to lock yourself up in your room and enjoy the new surround sound chair.

Surround Sound Chair

It’s from the guys that brought you the Plasma-Lift Conference Table with built-in 42-inch plasma monitor.. The wonder-chair comes equipped with five speakers and it also includes a 12″ subwoofer to literally rock your hind. This chair is specifically built to prevent sound from reflecting off the walls and the ceiling and thus gives a sublime experience.

The chair has two speakers in front of you, mounted on a pivoting tubing that can be fully adjusted. Two flared sound vents sit next to your ears, where the head-rest should be, but they actually look like small trumpets rather than sophisticated speakers. And for some deep bass sounds, you got a nifty subwoofer that sits beneath the chair. The chair itself sports some plushy and retro flavors, neatly finished in wood, perfect for you to hop in with some munchies, while watching your favorite movies.

Now all you need to do is spend $3000 and you got yourself a comfy sound system.
