The comfort that is delivered by a simple pencil and paper is always lacking in a keyboard. Similarly, what if there would have been come device that is actually a blending of the modern day hi tech feature with the traditional methodology. Yes, the Wacom Bamboo pen-tablet is something similar to it. It is a combination of old pen with the new interface to the computer. This tablet is very much similar to the pencil and paper of olden days.
The official name of the tablet is ‘Bamboo Fun’ with a tag on the box saying ‘Create Your World’. As you open the box, you come across a black background with texts written in white, followed by a happy face and a signature. The same message is repeated in several languages including German, Spanish, French and many others. Finally inside the box and under its insert there is the tablet itself, a pen and a stand, a wireless mouse, an USB cable of 1.5m, a black box containing the software and a pack of three replacement writing nibs.
As far as the looks are concerned, the Wacom Bamboo Tablet is very decent and sophisticated with silver surrounding and slightly slanted to form thin edges. The bezel placed under the tablet is slightly curved creating a provision for palm rest. The silver pad, egg shaped mouse and the pen holder – all have been given a matte silver finish to match with the matte silver surrounding. The available colors for the Bamboo Fun are white, black and blue. The medium model of Bamboo Fun tablet measures approximately 11.0 x 9.3 x 0.3 inches (W x D x H) or 28 cm x 23.6 cm x 0.76 cm. There is another smaller model measuring 5.8 x 3.7 inches (W x D) or (14.7 cm x 9.4 cm). The suggested retail price of the medium sized tablet is USD $199, whereas the smaller sized one is of USD $99.
