Alesis releases its latest USB Recording Kit

Just as CES 2009 was used by many a companies to debut their state-of-the-art and best-of-the-breed products, similarly companies are exploiting the 2009 Winter NAMM Show, to showcase their products. Now Alesis has made use of the grand Show to curtain off its USB Recording Kit, which, according to the company itself, is an all-in-one computer-recording system.

Boasting of the product, the company further claims that the USB Recording Kit allows its users to hook up the set of two AM2 condenser microphones to the iO|2 digital-audio interface in order to record stereo audio, with the help of integrated Steinberg Cubase LE 4 digital audio workstation software. Besides, the users are also allowed to keep an eye on sessions and playback with the M1Active 320 USB speakers.

It doesn’t need any additional sound cards, special connectors or adapters and software drivers. You just have to provide a PC or Mac with two available USB ports and a duo of ordinary microphone cables. As its reviews, the USB Recording Kit can be availed from pro audio retailers and musical instrument with an estimated price tag of around $299.99.

The set of AM2 stereo microphone brags of a matched-stereo duo of AM2 condenser microphones, stand clips, an XY-stereo mount, windscreens as well as a carry case. The low profile, diminutive cardioid condensers also comes with a switchable pad and high-pass filter for optimal signal management.

While the iO|2 is claimed to be a lithe digital audio interface that comes with two XLR-1/4-inch combination inputs as well as 48V phantom power. The users can use the inputs to connect microphones, instruments and line-level inputs for trouble-free recording of bass, guitar, keyboards and over. The iO|2 boasts of sending CD-quality 16-bit, 44.1 kHz digital audio to the user’s PC using USB and stereo signal to the user’s headphones.

Last but not the least is the M1Active 320 USB studio, which boasts of keeping an eye on attributes three-inch lightweight woofers, one-inch silk-dome tweeters and both USB and analog inputs for clean, low-distortion signal flow.
