The BackBeat stereo Bluetooth headset from Altec Lansing is one of the most comfortable headsets that are available in the market. The BackBeat headset is available in two version- headset-only model, 903, is priced at $99.99 and the model 906 is priced at $129.99. The 903 also includes an adapter which works with non-Bluetooth devices.
Most of the headsets feel stiff when you wear them as they put pressure on the outer part of the ear. But this is not the case with BackBeat as the headset is very comfortable. This comfort is mainly due to the brilliant design of the headset. The earbuds are very light and have the total weight of just 1.2 ounces. The buds are connected by a rubbery wire that goes behind the head. The flexible wire allows you to lean back, which is not possible with most headsets which offer the same design.
The controls are very easily accessible and are located on both the ears. The right ear clip features the buttons for Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Rewind and Volume whereas the Call Answer button is located on the left ear clip. According to the manufacturer, the headset is meant of music listening than the call attending. The headset has more dominant midrange which overpowers the bass and high treble. The songs with lot of low end sounds worst as compared to vocals, which sound pretty clear.
