Wooden laptop case

Posted by admin On January - 30 - 2009

What’s the most obvious proof of the fact that there’s a huge demand for the products manufactured and commercialized by a company? Alright, maybe sales; it’s quite understandable why you would think first of this answer, because when a company sells well, you know that its work wasn’t for nothing and that it’s on the road that leads to success.

Wooden laptop case

But there’s another aspect that should be taken into consideration: the secondary market of the product, consisting of accessories especially designed to work with what you’re selling. And there’s no doubt about the fact that Apple is one of those lucky companies that create sensation with each and every new release.

This is why you shouldn’t be surprised that Rainer Spehl, a designer that “works hands-on in furniture, interior and exhibition design”, dwelt upon the 15 inch Apple MackBooks and MackBooks Pro for his new product. Just in case you didn’t know, there are many solutions on the market for laptop owners who want to safely transport their devices, besides the messenger bags. The Wooden Laptop Case is a unique stylish enclosure that is just a little bit larger than the laptop.

Wooden laptop case

A great thing about this case is the fact that it is lined with leather on the inside, to prevent your laptop from scratching, while the closing mechanism is based on a magnetic lock. But if you thought that what you have in front of your eyes is a product very close to perfection, wait until I tell you how much it costs, because it is pretty expensive, you know? The Wooden Laptop Case can be yours for approximately 220 Euro. And, if you’re interested, the only thing you should do is to just contact the designer.

Phantom Keystroker Reviews

Posted by admin On January - 29 - 2009

The majority of gadgets are unusual and useful helpers; there are a few of them that just double to be high jinks. Looking like ordinary devices, they encompass infuriating or odd utilities hidden within. Their chief job is to prank on an enemy or acquaintance’s PC, to annoy them and to sneer on it afterwards. They often aren’t dodgy, and perform a lot of unsophisticated but infuriating actions. As the features, similar to this one – it is dubious to look just like a risk-free and trouble-free USB thumb drive; on the contrary it has a number of hidden functions that no one is conscious of.

Phantom Keystroker Reviews

So, have a look at the Phantom Keystroker, which can be attached on a single USB port to hook up to the target’s computer When it’s connected, it gets familiar with PC in the form of a USB keyboard and mouse, and hangs around concealed until time comes. Then it starts exasperating the user by creating a few keystrokes without having been seen that this device is in the process of writing the random and odd text, shifting the mouse cursor at fastening and random caps lock – each one of these joint would let a user think that his computer has been attacked by virus, or the hackers have taken partial control of it.

But there is no antivirus software, which can resolve the source of this mystification, as the Phantom Keystroker doesn’t work on software but no hardware region. Using a set of specific buttons lying on its side, it may adjust its functions and fix a time delay, which is a practical way to elaborate or to extend the joke. Just imagine the rage of the user, while following hours of thorough system cleaning, he will come across a peculiar USB thumb drive, connected to his computer and is the standalone suspect of the infuriating things!

BenQ MP522ST Review

Posted by admin On January - 28 - 2009

BenQ has launched its third short-throw projector in the market. The third projector, the MP522ST, is as good if not better than the MP771 and the MP512ST by the same company. An important feature of the MP522ST is that it is a more portable business projector. It is styled in jet black. The projector has compact dimensions of 255 × 90 × 214 mm and it weighs just 2.2kg. The projector comprises a straightforward external control panel on the top. The user can also use the given remote control.

The MP522ST is provided with a D-sub for analogue RGB and component video. It also is provided with a mini-DIN for S-Video and RCA for composite video. An RS232 serial connector and a stereo mini jack are also the part of the package. The projector lacks an HDMI port which is used in projectors for out of the world gaming experiences. This omission proves that the MP522ST is not aimed at gamers but aimed at business professionals.

BenQ MP522ST Review

The MP522ST manages its one meter short-throw picture size of 55-inch with the help of its aspherical lens. This lens is capable of keeping pin-sharp focus and original colour reproduction even over such a short distance. This means that the need of large meeting rooms for projections doesn’t play a role if the user is using the MP522ST. The high brightness lamp of the MP522ST delivers 2,000 ANSI lumens with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio. It can display 16.7 million colours. BenQ’s BrilliantColor technology keeps these colors intense and vibrant during projection.

The MP522ST projector is powered with eleven sets of picture modes that maximize the benefits of any presentation. The projector offers a XGA (1,024 × 768) resolution with either 4:3 or 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. The lamp of the projector has an optimum life expectancy of 4,000 hours. The MP522ST is the quietest projector with a noise level of 26dB in economic mode and 31dB in normal operation. The MP522ST is available for around $767.

This sure is a very cool gadget. The new Samsung W7900 is designed in order to be a mobile phone and a DLP projector at the same time. It also comes with a camera of 5 megapixels and an OLED display of 3.2 inches. Unfortunately the device will only be available in Korea. Too bad!

The Teddy Bear MP3 Player

Posted by admin On January - 28 - 2009

The Teddy Bear MP3 Player

OK so we are talking about a really cute MP3 player that is shaped as a Teddy Bear. On the other hand we are talking about just 128 MB of storage space and support only for WMA and MP3. The only real good thing comes from the fact that you do have USB connectivity and the battery is capable of playing your audio tracks for around 8 hours. On the other hand, the real problem stands in the fact that the Teddy Bear MP3 Player costs $78, which is definitely too much from our point of view. The truth is that the kids might really love it.

The Mac is Back with a Double-Dose of Glass Phone Style Design

This man cannot be stopped with the design conceptualization. Once inside this post, read about it, post about it, then click his name to explore all the other Yanko posts he’s designed his way into. Here he presents two glass phone concepts. Both have multiple uses (one can be used as a regular stand-up desk clock!) and are extremely prone to fingerprints.

The Mac is Back with a Double-Dose of Glass Phone Style Design

These would definitely need protective cases to make it through a day in my pocket, or any other regular human-being for that matter. And with a full-glass (and a little bit of plastic) construction, I wouldn’t be using it on anything but pure-pc-clean-hands days.

The Mac is Back with a Double-Dose of Glass Phone Style Design

On the other hand, they are just gorgeous, as per usual.

Oh, and they are dubbed “Glassy Glassy” phones by Funamizu. Not to be mistaken for the “Gassy Gassy” phones which I’m in the process of making, lols.

Lexmark T650n Reviews

Posted by admin On January - 26 - 2009

The Lexmark T650n, priced at $699, is the ultimate printing device for small offices and workgroups. The printer’s very fast speed, plus plenty of paper handling options make it an indispensible tool. The T650n is built around 45 pages per minute engine. The printer has a 350 sheet standard input capacity, which is divided between a 250-sheet drawer and a 100-sheet multipurpose tray. Extensions to the printer, like adding a duplexer, can make it to handle substantial input capacities of the order of 4,000 sheets.

Lexmark T650n Reviews

The Lexmark T650n printer measures 13.7 by 16.7 by 19.4 inches. The printer is quite heavy at around 40 pounds. The printer can be simply plugged in and made to run an automated installation routine. The printer is capable of supporting Vista and Mac OS 10.2. The Lexmark Web site also offers download of drivers for Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, NT 4.0, Mac OS 9.2, and Linux.

The T650n’s print quality for graphics and photos is absolutely amazing. It is an excellent output device for business use. The text quality from the printer is excellent with the printer recognizing, reading, and forming almost all types of text fonts. The graphics of the printer are very good for any kind of internal business use. The printer retains thin lines of the graphics exceptionally well. A downside here is that sometimes, there is a tendency that few gradients look like smudges instead of looking smooth. There is also a visible fussy dithering in the form of mild patterns. That is why the printer is an excellent tool for internal business use. The user will think twice about using the output of this printer for an important external client. The printer effectively prints recognizable images from web pages with photos.

Canon Pixma MX700 Reviews

Those who are not going to settle with the average but believes in the best, Canon Pixma MX700 is surely the answer for them. Built mainly for businesses that have a greater printing requirement this all-new multi functional device can be effectively used everywhere.

Regarding the feature it can do a lot of things for your business and acts like your personal assistant for printing jobs. In terms of the speed it continues to perform well undergoing several tests. An ordinary full page text takes only 9 seconds to get printed whether other printers take a longer time. Within 96 seconds you can have a copy of grayscale image printed on an A4 size paper using the Canon Pixma MX700. A 4 x 6 color photo (post card size) takes as less as 73 seconds to get printed. This is all about the speeds. Regarding the quality you will rarely face any problem with the plain text printing. Even in the normal mode it produces clear an dark text that serves majority of the office needs. When opting for the color document printing it is definitely a winner in that field. The only flaw that can be observed is printing the color photographs. But don’t think that it is inefficient in that field but only it has not any distinguishable difference with the competitor brands. Adjusting contrast level will help you to get clear image of the darker areas.

Canon Pixma MX700 Reviews

As we have already said, this multi functional device continues to work with a good speed while scanning documents or images too. At 300dpi it takes only 18 seconds to have a photo quality color scanned copy and grayscale scanning at 150dpi is fast enough as it takes only 8 seconds. Again the quality of scanning ranges from average to good when the original copy changes from grayscale document to colored image.

This device also manages to deliver a handsome performance when copying documents. The only issue you have to keep in mind is while copying a black and white image, you have to keep the ink intensity low if the original contains darker areas covering maximum parts.

The front side of the device carries a large angled control panel which has a colour display. A set of slots alongside the control panel enable the user to browse and print direct from memory cards without the use of a PC. A down side here is that the USB port available on the front of the device can only be used with PictBridge enabled devices and not with ordinary USB memory sticks.

Lexmark - X7675 Reviews

At the back of the device, the user can find a USB 2.0 interface for direct PC attachment, two jacks for the fax modem, a local handset, a Gigabit Ethernet port for LAN attachment, and a stubby aerial indicating the presence of a built-in WiFi print server. The scanner is provided with Lexmark’s ‘high yield’ black and colour cartridges. The printer can print around 500 black-only pages and 350 colour pages in one refill.

The printer has a maximum print speed is 32ppm for black and 27ppm for colour pages. The quality of the prints is more than adequate for most business purposes. The X7675, thanks to its built-in display and clearly labeled buttons, can be conveniently used as a copier too. With the help of the supplied Windows software, the user can scan documents on the device. Faxing is also very convenient with the Lexmark X7675. Alpine iDA-X100 Reviews

The Alpine iDA-X100 digital media receiver relies solely on the digital approach when it comes to playing music. The device is supported by USB that supports full speed iPod connectivity. The huge knob in the center of Alpine iDA-X100 is eye-catching. The device has a Double Action Encoder that has volume buttons and navigation menus. The knob can be used for a variety of purposes like song selection, Percent Search mode, jump through song menus, artists menus etc. The user can use the Percent Search to jump between radio presets and MP3 folders and playlists.

Alpine iDA-X100 Reviews

The device features a full color LCD display. The display lists song and menu information. If the player is connected to an iPod, album artwork is also displayed. But the device cannot display video content from the iPod. Those users who like listening to many CDs at a time or like to burn MP3s to disc, the iDA-X100 is not the recommended device as it lacks an optical media player. Instead of the disc slot, the iDA-X100 contains a full speed USB connection that allows immediate access to songs stored on MP3 players, iPods, and other USB mass storage devices. The iDA-X100 supports MP3, WMA, and AAC playback. The player can even support DRM protected digital audio.

The Alpine iDA-X100 is an excellent upgrade in volume and sound quality over most other car stereos. It gives an output that averages 18 watts into four discrete channels. The device also sports a three 2 volt full range preamp outputs. An optimized sound is provided through a combination of advanced equalizer and the Imprint audio processor. An additional feature, a Media Xpander (MX), can be applied to analog sources, like FM radio, to boost sound quality. Through the Ai-Net connection of the device, HD Radio, Bluetooth hands free, an external CD changer, and satellite radio can be controlled. The Bluetooth module allows the user to stream music from A2DP Bluetooth enabled devices. The Alpine’s HD Radio receiver, when combined with an Apple iPod, helps in tagging songs in iTunes.

Technically speaking you will gain 10 dB to the sound that the iPhone takes out. The immediate result is a better sounding experience in music and movies. The interesting fact is that this cool gadget only costs $7.95. You will not at all spend a lot and 10 dB is quite enough when you compare before and after effects.

Magellan is one of the leader portable navigation device manufacturers and Maestro 4350 is another addition to its long lineup of high-end GPS devices. The $500 Maestro 4350 features the revamped user interface of Magellan which uses the OneTouch menu that allows you to easily navigate through various options.

The Maestro 4350 is 3.27 inches tall, 4.88 inches wide and 0.7 inch deep and weighs just 7.2 ounces. The device features a 4.3-inch widescreen which is good enough for viewing the maps. The Maestro 4350 offers all the features of a high-end GPS device. With Maestro you get the real time traffic updates, 6 million POI database, an integrated Bluetooth and maps of United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. But it lacks text-to-speech functionality which is quite handy and allows you to concentrate on the road while driving. Instead of text-to-speech feature, the GPS device supports a photo viewer and multimedia player. The photo viewer and multimedia player supported by the Maestro 4350 are best as compared to other portable GPS devices.

Magellan Maestro 4350 Reviews

The 4350 features a completely improved user interface which is intuitive and uses the OneTouch feature of quick navigation. The Home screen sports three large icons- View Map, Settings and Go TO. The other features can be accessed through the icons provided on the bottom of the display. These functions include media player, Bluetooth phone interface, text messaging. An icon for OneTouch feature is located in the upper right corner of the display. When you tap the icon it allows you to access Home screen, Nearby Road Service, five user defined destinations or searches, Previous Destinations, S.O.S and Where AM I functions.

The 4350 uses the 6 million POI database to find your favorite restaurants, gas stations, hospitals, motels and much more. You can search the POIs by category, name, or POIs along the route or close to your destination.

The Maestro 4350 has some additional features that make it more competitive among the high-end GPS devices. The 4350 also allows you to view the 3D maps with landmarks for a number of areas. Moreover, the 4350 can calculate the route according to time and distance based on three different criteria simultaneously. It can calculate the route according to Shortest Distance, Fastest Time and most Economical. Any other GPS can calculate only one route at one time but the 4350 calculates the three routes simultaneously.

The 7200T is another addition to the lineup of Navigon’s high-end GPS devices. The 7200T differs from previous GPS models and offers a new design with matte black casing. The device is very compact and you can take it anywhere you want. The 7200T is 3.2 inches tall, 4.6 inches wide and 0.7 inch deep, and weighs just 6.5 ounces. The revamped design is also evident from the flat 4.3-inch display, which gives the device a more sophisticated look. The display provides sharp and bright maps which are very easy to view.

Navigon 7200T Reviews

The 4.3-inch display is touch sensitive and is better than the touch sensitive display of Navigon’s previous models. The large screen makes it easier to use the ABC- formatted keyboard. The data entry is easy and accurate on the large touch screen of 7200T. But it is a little disappointing that the GPS device does not have QWERTY keyboard. The user interface featured by the 7200T is pretty easy to navigate as it is very intuitive. The start menu shows four different options: My Destination, Voice Entry, New Destination and Take Me Home.

The GPS device comes with a car charger, software CD, vehicle mount for both- windshield and dashboard, and reference material. The 7200T offers a number of ports which include power button on the top edge whereas the bottom edge features a mini USB port along with reset hole, microSD slot and standard headphone jack.

The 7200T is a high-end GPS device and offers a number of features. The device features maps of US, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada. The 7200T allows you to enter your destination by particular address, recent destination, POIs, or user-defined home. Moreover, you don’t need to type the address as there is an option of entering the address by voice. But you need practice to work with the voice command system. The voice command system can be used only for address entering. The device is also capable of calculating the route in different ways- fast, optimum, and short. Moreover it allows you give choose from modes like allow/avoid toll roads and highways, bicycle and pedestrian modes. The device uses the real-time traffic updates to determine the alternative routes if you get stuck in traffic.

The device also allows you to add multiple destinations for your tip. Like most of device, the POIs include gas stations, ATMs, restaurants, motels or lodging, museums, golf courses or marinas. The 7200T offers 2D maps, and 3d maps with landmark views. The device offers visual as well as audio help which includes the text-to-speech features. Well, officially this interesting mouse is called the USB Aircraft Mouse. Probably the only thing that will sell it stands in the design. It does look pretty interesting although it is surely not as comfortable as you would first believe. On the other hand, it only costs $17 and you can choose from a number of interesting colors. We are sure that there will be a lot of people that will buy it eventually because it is quite cheap and does look really stylish.
